I want to talk about Frederick, a colleague of mine. During one of our team building meetings, we each took turns to give brief introductions about ourselves, and I was deeply impressed by Frederick's presentation. Turns out he is more than just a competent software developer. He actually maintains a very engaging lifestyle. So the dude went to the gym three times a week, and then on top of that, he also finishes a 10 km marathon twice a week. What impresses me more is that he's just not into maintaining his physical health, but he also somehow finds time to develop his mental strength. He's a voracious reader. He was actually the one who introduced me to Stormlight Archive, which is hands down one of the best fantasy series I've ever read. And he also forced people to read Why We Sleep, me included, and it was one of the books that really changed my habit, really. I went from someone who took sleep lightly into someone who always tries his best to have a minimum of 7 hours sleep daily. Yeah, I was deeply inspired by Frederick's presentations. I like the way, and I'm mostly impressed about how he managed to finish all the work commitments. He even excelled at work, but he maintained a very active lifestyle. He constantly tries to build not only his physical but also his mental sharpness. And I was truly inspired, and after his presentation, I did a little bit of self-retrospectives, and it made some change about my lifestyle actually. I'm more engaged to reading and keep myself physically active every day of the week for at least 30 minutes.
