SCP-9932 — The Lucky Coin

SCP-9932 is a coin that appears to be made of silver. One side bears the depiction of a clover, while the other appears to depict the head of a feline.

According to observations conducted so far, SCP-9932 must be tossed into the air in order to activate its anomalous properties. Depending on which side is facing upward when the coin lands, one of two different effects will occur.

If the result corresponds to the clover symbol, the individual who tossed the coin will experience extremely favorable luck for a period of approximately one hour, causing the owner of the coin to repeatedly want to toss it again.

However, tests conducted so far indicate that obtaining the feline symbol results in the immediate death of the individual.

Thanks to the intervention of Dr. Jack Bright, it was determined that the phenomenon is considerably more complex than initially believed. According to the subject's recorded testimony, immediately after observing the feline symbol, a seemingly feline entity approximately the size of an elephant appears.

The entity approaches the individual and bites their head. The subject reports experiencing pain equivalent to the sensation of their body exploding into thousands of fragments. The individual subsequently dies almost instantly.

The first case associated with SCP-9932 was discovered when the body of a man was found. According to available witness accounts, the man had experienced an extraordinarily prolonged streak of victories and favorable events. Shortly after tossing a coin, witnesses reported that the man "suddenly exploded."

The Foundation subsequently recovered the body and determined that the incident displayed characteristics consistent with the effects observed during subsequent tests of SCP-9932.
