# Bread Machine Flatbread

This is a soft, versatile Mediterranean-style flatbread made easy using the dough cycle of a bread machine.

- Prep time: 10 minutes
- Cook time: 15 minutes
- Idle time: 1 hour 45 minutes
- Servings: 8 flatbreads

## Ingredients

* 240 ml Warm Water (approx. 40°C)
* 30 ml Olive Oil
* 6 g Salt
* 5 g Sugar
* 450 g All-Purpose or Bread Flour
* 7 g Instant Yeast
* 1 tsp Garlic Powder (Optional)
* 1 tsp Dried Oregano (Optional)

## Instructions

### 1. Dough Cycle
Add water, olive oil, salt, sugar, flour, and yeast to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select the **Dough** setting and let the cycle complete (includes kneading and first rise).

### 2. Portion and Rest
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 8 equal pieces (approx. 90-95g each). Roll into balls, cover with a towel, and let rest for 15 minutes.

### 3. Roll Out
Roll each ball into a circle or oval approximately 5mm to 6mm thick.

### 4. Sear
Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron is best) over medium-high heat. Do not oil the pan. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 60 seconds.

### 5. Finish
Stack the cooked breads in a clean kitchen towel immediately after removing from heat to keep them soft and pliable.
